Jared Beckstrand, PT, DPT
Jared has always loved to be active. Sports, weight lifting, skiing, and mountain biking have always been passions of his and a large part of his inspiration to pursue a degree in physical therapy.

He received a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Utah State University in 2007 where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. In 2010 he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree in (Magna Cum Laude) while serving as President of his class.

Since that time he has worked as an outpatient physical therapist working primarily with strains, sprains, running injuries, and pregnant/postpartum women.

In 2013 Jared started the website "Tone-and-Tighten.com" in an effort to provide "Real Fitness For Real People". There you'll find at-home workouts, healthy recipes, physical therapy tips and advice, and so much more. The goal is to help you become the healthiest version of yourself.

  Can I do this program while pregnant?
The core exercises in this program are designed for the post-delivery time frame. I usually recommend these exercises through the first trimester, but with an increasing belly circumference they tend to get difficult in the second and third trimesters.
  How soon after pregnancy can I start these exercises?
The general rule of thumb is to wait 6 weeks after delivery to start any exercise program. Depending on your delivery type, body type, exercise experience, etc, this time period may be more or less. You should always ask your doctor to determine when it is safe for you to start these exercises.

Diastasis recti is a separation of the anterior abdominal muscle (the rectus abdominis) at its connective tissue.   Should I stop working out while doing this program?
